Aidly - AI Chat

Aidly - AI Chat

Connect with AI in a way you never have before.

Chat

Purpose
The Chat screen is the heart of user interaction within Aidly, designed to connect users seamlessly with their Aides.

Design Approach
We approached the design by focusing on creating visual and interactive connections between the user and their Aide.

Color Usage
We used vibrant colors to differentiate the Aides visually, making the interface not only more attractive but also more intuitive. This visual distinction helps to reduce user confusion and focus on the conversation.

Voice Interaction
Recognizing the pitfalls of voice transcription in many apps, we refined our voice interaction to be top-tier. Users can hold down a button, akin to a walkie-talkie, to dictate their message, and release to send, which is communicated through fluid animations and clear, simple instructions like "hold down to talk".

Visual and Haptic Feedback
We use subtle visual cues and haptic feedback to communicate different states such as ready to listen, listening, cancelling, and message sent. This feedback is crucial for providing a responsive and satisfying user experience.

Home

Visual and Functional Harmony
Keeping your conversations in the forefront was an important decision we made to maintain relevance and quick interaction. The conversation previews and Aide icons are standardized not only to maintain visual consistency but also to facilitate quick recognition and ease of use.

Aide Discovery
By displaying Aides in a familiar layout, each with a unique, visually distinctive icon, we simplify the discovery process. Descriptive tags provide a snapshot of their expertise areas, from travel planning to tech support, ensuring users can quickly identify the right Aide for their needs.

User-Centric Design
The styling choices, including font sizes, colors, and button shapes, were made to optimize visual comfort and readability. For instance, larger fonts for Aide names and descriptions help users quickly scan for information, while the use of rounded shapes makes the interface feel more friendly and accessible.

Onboarding

Purpose
We designed the Onboarding Flow to be the introductory journey through Aidly, ensuring users are well-informed about the app's capabilities from the beginning. This initial experience is crafted to engage users by seamlessly guiding them through key functionalities, enhancing their understanding and ease of use.

Design Approach
We strategically implemented a step-by-step walkthrough that highlights the app's core features through interactive and easy-to-digest screens. Each screen is purposefully minimal yet informative, avoiding information overload while maintaining user interest.

Visual Design
The use of vibrant colors and intuitive icons helps to differentiate each screen clearly, making the onboarding process not only educational but also visually engaging. This design choice ensures users can easily recall the functionalities as they start using the app regularly.

Interactive Cards

Purpose
Interactive Cards are a core feature within Aidly, designed to enhance user interaction by providing detailed, actionable content directly in the chat experience. These cards transform simple inquiries into engaging experiences, allowing users to interact with the information in a dynamic and intuitive way.

Functionality
Interactive Cards are more than just static displays; they offer functionalities like tapping on notable locations to explore further details. We made it easy for users to discover additional information by simply tapping on interactive elements on the card, like notable locations to access additional information from third-party APIs to provide real-time details, reviews, and even booking options.

Design Approach
The design of these cards focuses on clarity and ease of use. Each card displays information related to the user's specific query, such as travel itineraries, recipes, or workout plans, organized in an easy-to-navigate format. This approach not only makes the information more accessible but also visually appealing.

Training Mode

Purpose
We designed Training Mode to be an innovative feature that empowers users to personalize their interaction with Aides by teaching them about their preferences directly through the chat interface. This mode is designed to make the app more intuitive and responsive to individual user needs.

Design Decision
The design of Training Mode is focused on simplicity and efficiency. When activated, it shifts the chat interface to highlight information the Aide has learned, providing a clear distinction between general chat and training sessions. This helps users easily see what information has been retained and what needs further clarification or addition.

Functionality
Users can activate Training Mode with a simple tap on the 'Train' button. Once in this mode, they can converse with their Aide using text or voice to share information about their preferences, habits, or needs. Aidly uses this data to tailor future interactions, making each experience more personalized.

User Convenience
This mode offers a seamless way to integrate learning directly into the flow of conversation without requiring users to navigate away from the chat. It's designed for on-the-spot training, making it easy and convenient for users to update their preferences as they change or as new needs arise.

What's New

Purpose
Designed to effectively communicate updates and new features to users whenever there is a new version of the app. This feature ensures users are promptly informed about enhancements without disrupting their experience.

Design Decision
The screen is crafted with simplicity and user convenience in mind. It provides a brief overview of new features in a clean, easy-to-read format. The design is minimalist, focusing on delivering information succinctly to keep users engaged without overwhelming them.

Engagement Strategy
By presenting new features in this non-intrusive yet accessible way, this screen serves as a gentle prompt for users to explore further, prompting them to discover the new features.
